He was predeceased by: his parents, Aalt Veldkamp and Dena Veldkamp (Ruisch); his son Verlyn Veldkamp; his daughter-in-law JoAnn Veldkamp; and his siblings, Jeanette Beyer, Alice Kracht, Florence Birkhofer McKnight, Dorothy Rossow, Arvilla Veldkamp, Ben and Jim Veldkamp.

He is survived by: his wife Greta Veldkamp; his sons, Jim Veldkamp of Jasper, Loren Veldkamp (Bonnie) of Jasper and Leroy Veldkamp (Denise) of Jasper; his grandchildren, Jennifer Lerwick (Dean), Francis, Jolyn, Alex and Keisha Veldkamp; his great grandchildren, Kate, Ella and Will Lerwick; and his siblings-in-law, Harley Rossow, J. C. McKnight and Lorraine Rossow.

“Thinking you all at this very difficult time. Two things that i am always going to remember is uncle elmer's smile every time i would see him and many years ago when mom and dad left me to hold down the farm while they went off to convention, the farm water well went dry and uncle elmer came to my rescue.
