He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Barthel and Bernadette Barthel (Vetsch); his brothers, Duane Barthel and Kenneth Barthel; his nephew Kerry Barthel; and his sister-in-law Judy Hackenmueller.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Jane Barthel; his children, Scott Barthel (Michele), Steve Barthel (Shelly), Dana Dehmer (Dan) and Amy Burke (Darren); his brother Jerome Barthel (Shirley); and his brother-in-law James Hackenmueller. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Michael Catholic Church (11300 Frankfort Pkwy NE, St Michael, MN 55376).
