With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Turene Evelyn Malafa of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, who passed away on December 16, 2021 at the age of 101. She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Torgerson and Anne Torgerson (Hegland); her nieces, Pam Swenson, Marcia Walstrand and Peggy McIntyre; her husband Francis Cariveau (Vern Malafa); her children, Michael John Cariveau, Paul Alan Cariveau, Rodney James Malafa and Bonnie Sue Anderson (Bernie) of Northome, MN; and her siblings, Glendora Aaker, Alvin Torgerson, Alice Farstad, Doris Shereck, Hazel Fowler, Alma Zhorela, Myrtle Wiertzema, Clarence Torgerson, Raymond Torgerson and Joan Nelson.
She is survived by: her children, Jerry Francis Cariveau of Greenville, TX and Cynthia Kaye Kingsbury (John) of Bemidji, MN; her daughters-in-law, Linda Cariveau and Lois Malafa of Cottonwood, AZ; her sisters, Ruth Anderson, East, Jean Thompson and Helen Nelson of Grand Forks, ND; and her sister-in-law Margarette Malafa of Fargo, ND.. She is also survived by 24 Grandchildren, 55 Great-Grandchildren, 14 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
