He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Niemela and Louise Niemela (Anderson); and his grandparents, Carl, Sophia Niemela, Arthur and Senja Anderson.
He is survived by: his siblings, Paul "Mike" (Cheryl), Nathan (Nancy), Maria Borja (Marcelo), Aaron (Bonnie), Vincent (Brenda), Larry (Elizabeth), Maurice (Sarah), Betsy Ravis (Brett) and Amy. He is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.
