He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Kirkeide and Mildred Kirkeide (Brandt); his former wife Muriel Olson; and his siblings, Donna, Joan, Shirley, Mary, Edward and Steve.
He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Knutson; his children, Holly Forseth (Larry), Amber Groen (Mitch), April Geier (Don) and Shawn Kirkeide (Shannon); and his brothers, Duane Kirkeide (Elaine) and Allen Kirkeide (Trish). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
