He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Spenst and Charlotte Spenst (Elina); his sons, Robert Spenst Jr. and Preston Scott Spenst; and his grandson Patrick Spenst.
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Spenst; his children, Paul Spenst, Barbara Stanbeck, Vivian Wagner, Kim Marlee and Sandra Spenst; his brothers, Richard Spenst Jr. (Alice), Larry Spenst (Judy), Gary Spenst, Lenard Spenst (Sharon) and Herb Robbins; and his former wife Betty Jane Brneking. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.
