He was predeceased by: his parents, Fredrick Wanek and Rose Wanek (Hestra); his former wife Joyce Wanek; his daughter Debora Gill; his siblings, Elaine Rossow (Dallas), Lucille Korth (Wilbert), Leonard Wanek (Muriel), Cecil Wanek and Cicily Wanek; and his brother-in-law Gene Rossow.
He is survived by: his former wife Joyce Haug; his wife Sue Wanek; his children, Dave Wanek (Gail), Barbara Wanek and Donald Wanek; his grandchildren, Josh Gill, Sherry Schmit (Dan) and Jeremy Wanek (Lindsey); his sisters, Evelyn Spear (Erlen), Emily Bruvold (Peder) and Cecelia Rossow; and his sister-in-law Judy Wanek. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests all memorials to be mailed to Joseph Vertin and Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge.
