He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred F. Holzbauer and Lucinda Holzbauer (Birgen); and his siblings, Mary Lou Friederichs (John) and Thomas. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Dauer of Breckenridge; his children, Steve Holzbauer (Sue) of Breckenridge, Cheryl Groenwold (Rick) of Norcross, MN, Jean Holzbauer of Breckenridge, Douglas Holzbauer (Berdine) of Breckenridge and Paula Hayward (Todd) of Bismarck, ND; his grandchildren, Skyler Holzbauer (Megan), Bailey Thompson (Tanner), Chandler Holzbauer (Alicia), Laken Holzbauer (D'Angelo Burns), Travis Hayward, Sullivan Busch, Sawyer Busch, Alex Hayward and Shayzen Busch; his great grandchildren, Korbyn Holzbauer, Kade Holzbauer and Raelyn Holzbauer; and his siblings, Evelyn Polansky (Bernard) of Lidgerwood, ND, Marcia Heley (Wayne) of Lidgerwood, ND and Jerry Holzbauer (Gail) of Breckenridge.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to St. Mary's Catholic School, Breckenridge.
