He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Hawkinson and Minnie Hawkinson (Mapes); his wife Betty Nielsen; and his sisters, Lurene Issacs, Mabel Hegre and Mary Ochsendorf.
He is survived by: his nieces and nephews, Donald Ochsendorf of Dawson, Robert Olson of Lake City, Pamela Peterson of Becker and Patricia Witt of Annandale; his stepsons, Steven White and Barry White of Brookings, OR; and his close friend Helen Leasman of Boyd.
