It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mervin George Claassen of Blaine, Minnesota, who passed away on November 7, 2023, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, George Claassen and Hattie Claassen (Saxton); his son David; and his siblings, Lloyd Claassen, Ervin Claassen, George Claassen, Jerry Hallin, Donald Hallin, Clarence Hallin, Melvin Hallin, Muriel Berggren, Violet Guderian, Joyce Evenson, Betty Dahlberg and Lois Berhow.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley; his children, Karen Stein (Jim), Susan Godeen (Rich), Anita Schramm (Curt) and Brian Claassen (Jody); his grandchildren, Krista Bahnsen, Aaron Godeen (Courtney), Kerry Keller (Jason), Ryan Maroney, Mark Maroney, Matthew Schramm (Samantha), Kevin Godeen (Alexandria), Rachel Sobolewski (Steve), Kayla Fleming (Patrick), Andrew Godeen (Gina), Ethan Claassen, Colton Schramm, Zachary Claassen, Melanie Dilonardo (Alexander) and Nolan Claassen; and his sister Pat Skuza (Evie Newman). He is also survived by 25 Great-Grandchildren and one Great-Great Grandchild.
