He was predeceased by: his parents, Merle Simonson and Dora Simonson (Steen). He is survived by: his wife Marjon VanderWilt; his children, Lavonne Ascheman (Greg) of Appleton and Tom Simonson (Melina) of Eden Prairie; his grandchildren, Aaron (Tonya), Jordan, Marcus Ascheman, Dakotah and Natasha Simonson; his great grandchild Xavier Ascheman; and his sisters, Sandra Woodin (Bill) of Benson and Cindy Johnson (Randy) of Willmar. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
In Lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Disabled Veterans or the Carris Hospice of Benson.
