He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank VanderWeyst and Clara VanderWeyst (Anderson); his siblings, George, Phyllis Fenstra and Cecelia Klang; and his stepchildren, Susan Benoit and Kurt Benoit.
He is survived by: his wife Lois Benoit (Matthews); his siblings, Jerome VanderWeyst (Sue), Thomas VanderWeyst (Layna), Bevain Henry (William), Elizabeth Trudell (George), Constance Morrissey, Frances Wechsler (Dean) and Linda Ellingson (Rodney); his sister-in-law Sharon VanderWeyst; and his stepsons, Michael Benoit (Shari) and Douglas Benoit. He is also survived by 5 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
