He was predeceased by: his parents, Rolfe Askegard and Gertrude Askegard (Shulstad); his stepmother Gladys; and his parents-in-law, Arthur and Betty Opsahl.
He is survived by: his wife Robin; his children, Brandy Weier (Mark) of Yankton, SD, Paul Askegard (Matina) of Fargo, ND and Scott Askegard (Betsy); his grandchildren, Christian, Maggie Weier, Alexis Askegard, Gage Askegard (Courtney) and Mya Askegard; his siblings, Douglas Askegard (Nathalie) of Simi Valley, CA, Aileen Clough (David), Fessenden and Wayne Aslesen (Pam); his sister-in-law Carla Brandao of San Diego, CA; and his friend David.
