He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard J. Swenson and Jane O. Swenson (Hough); his daughter-in-law Ronda Mehlhoff; and his brothers, Laverne Swenson and Gorden "Lefty" Swenson.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Mehlhoff of Barnesville, MN; his children, Cathy Ayers Hanna of Fargo, ND, Nancy Bong (Erroll) of West Fargo, ND, Randy Mehlhoff (Barbara) of Langdon, ND, Scott Mehlhoff of Phoenix, AZ and Heidi Braaten (Rae Dell) of Oxbow, ND; his grandchildren, Hunter Ayers, Evan Bong, Christi Mann (David), Nikki Pearson (Trevor), Andrew Mehlhoff, Alexa Braaten, Maddi Braaten, McKenna Braaten and Jared Rene (Crystal); his brother Burton Swenson (Carol) of Barnesville; and his sisters-in-law, Bonnie Swenson of Barnesville and Patty Swenson of Barnesville. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Our Saviors Lutheran Building Fund.
