She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Gieser and Emma Gieser (Flatten); her husband Elroy "Rocky" Penning; her siblings, Elmer "Bud" Mytten (Dixie) and Evelyn Madison (Clarence); and her friend Ruth Hoversten.
She is survived by: her sons, Rick Penning (Sandra) of St. Paul, Mark Penning (Cathy) of Northfield and Matthew Penning (Tamera) of Iowa City, Iowa; and her grandchildren, Andrew, Christopher, Maren, James, Margaret and Helen. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Memorials are preferred to the Our Savior's Lutheran Church – Music Ministries or recipient of donor's choice.
