He was predeceased by: his daughter Cheryl Russin (Brian); his granddaughter Anna Russin; his parents, Herman and Clara; his brother Eugene; and his sister-in-law Leonore.

He is survived by: his spouse Forever Sweetheart Edi Cornelius (True); and his children, Gordy, Jr. (Michele), Tim, Sandy Callahan (Brian), Anita Billings (Brad) and Michael (Kim). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
