He was predeceased by: his wife Barb; his son Scott; and his brother Don. He is survived by: his children, Jeff (Pat), Mike (Brooke), Valerie (Craig) and Vicki (Jim); his daughter-in-law Julie; his grandchildren, Jessie (Tim), Jill (Colin), Mitch, Cara (Kyle), Maddie (Easton), Joey, Jaren, Cory, Jamie, Skylar and Josie; and his brother Paul Swenson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Unity Geriatric Mental Health Floor at Unity Hospital and LBDA (Lewy Body Dementia Association).
