She was predeceased by: her parents, Jimmie Hinton and Bessie Hinton (Collins); her siblings, Birder Harris, Ocie Carter, Jimmie Hinton and Annie Meadows; her daughter Andrea McKinley; and her grandson Tarius Edwards.
She is survived by: her husband Young Barton Jr.; her children, Yolanda Whitaker, Karen Lewis (Michael), Shawn Barton (Lisa), Patrick Edwards and Tonja Edwards-White (Jermaine); and her siblings, Wilda Whitfield, Tinnie Bryant (Fern) and Margaret Busch. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren.
