He was predeceased by: his parents, Jessie Vance Alston and Mary DeVaughn Lee Alston; and his grandparents, Woodrow Augustus Lee, Sarah Vaughn Lee, Jimmie Alston and Susan Jackson Alston.
He is survived by: his sister Mariam "Tonya" L. Alston; his nephews, Brian L. Alston of Rembert, SC and Tyler J. Greene of Rembert, SC; his aunts, Betty Joann Johnson (William) of Camden, SC, Susie Mae Alston of Neptune, NJ, Dorothy Butts (Calvin) of Irvington, NJ, Helen Clanton of Columbia, SC and Rebecca "Essie Mae" Williams of Neptune, NJ; and his uncle Marshall Alston (Grace) of Neptune, NJ. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
