He was predeceased by: his parents, George Sheply and Mildred Sheply; and his siblings, Ivan Sheply and Colleen Woelke. He is survived by: his wife Dalene; his children, Dale Sheply (Phyllis Thomas), Steve Sheply and Rhonda Harris; his grandchildren, Ashley Adam (Daniel), Samantha Pewarchie (Mark), Drew Michael Harris and Sarah Zainea (Kevin); and his great grandchildren, Bentley, Jasper Pewarchie, Cecilia Adam and Ari Lee Zainea. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
