She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Gerrit Vanderwest and Cornelia Vanderwest (Zuidema); her daughter Paige Botts (Troy) of Williamston; her grandchildren, Madison Botts and Carter Botts; her brother Sam Vanderwest (Paulette) of Muskegon; her close friend Joseph Newman; and her husband Donald Martin Sandberg. She was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence.
