He was predeceased by: his son Kurt Wellhausen; his sibling Alvis Jean Wellhausen; and his parents, George Wellhausen and Eleanor Wellhausen. He is survived by: his wife Patricia; his son Karl Wellhausen; his grandchildren, Rachel Simonyi (Nick) and Leanna Lascala; his great grandchildren, Kaden Simonyi, Kylah Simonyi, Karson Simonyi, Skylar Wilder and Onyx Wilder; and his brother George Wellhausen (Judy).
