He was predeceased by: his parents, William Penn and Louise Bettis; his siblings, John Lee Bettis, Donnie Roy Davis, Barry Lee Bettis, Dorothy Calhoun, Bessie Cochran and Martha Jean Reed; and his grandson Antonio Brown.

He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Edwards of White Cloud; his children, Michelle Williams (Pastor Darryl), Willie Clayton Bettis (Madelyne) of South Haven, MI, Peter Brown (Ann) of Greensville, MS, Darren Thomas (Donielle) of Cedar Springs, MI, Terrell Marsh of Kent City, MI, Lisa Bettis-Cooper (Pastor James) of South Haven, Jawaun Bettis, James Bettis and Carl Bettis of White Cloud, MI; and his brothers, Curtis Crawford of Greenville, MS, William Henry Bettis (Doretha) of Ridgeland, MS, Gregory Lamar Bettis (Jennifer) of Greenville, MS and Ronnie Charles Griffin (Chanelle) of Indianapolis, IN. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
