He was predeceased by: his parents, Okey Newton and Adele Newton (Schlicht); and his sisters, Carol and Selma. He is survived by: his wife Diane Newton of West Branch; his children, Kelly Jo King (Kelly) of Croswell, Wayne Newton of Jeddo and Jennifer Hampton (Corey) of Port Huron; and his sister Barbara Steel of Fort Gratiot. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchild.
