He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Peahl and Jeanne Peahl. He is survived by: his wife Patrice; his children, Matthew Peahl, Kirstin Peahl and Brendan Peahl; his grandchildren, Taylor, Kristien, Graysen and Madison; his siblings, Robert Peahl (Melodie) and Susan Peahl (Jeff Bradley); his stepmother Margaret Peahl; and his stepsiblings, Douglas Grunnet (Patricia), Mike Grunnet (Deb) and Vickie Halvorson (David).

In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to the American Heart Association and pilots may donate to the APA Emergency Relief and Scholarship Fund.
