She was predeceased by: her parents, Reverend Charles Johnston and Mary Couchman Johnston; her husband Richard Bates; and her siblings, Sally Melton and Tommy Johnston.
She is survived by: her children, Dawn Starr and Rick Bates; her grandchildren, Victoria, Josh McKenna, Gregory Starr, Katelyn Kabel, Kevin, Makenzy Starr, Andrew Starr, Richard Bates, Alex Bates and Veronika Bates; and her sister Mary Dupre.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Apostolic Church (3655 N Squirrel Rd, Auburn Hills, MI 48326). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
