She was predeceased by: her parents, William Schramke and Florence Schramke; her husband Thomas Smithers; her siblings, Edwin, Richard Schramke and Carol McCormick; her great grandchild Oliver Thomas Deacons; and her brothers-in-law, Larry McCormick and Donald Glaza.
She is survived by: her grandchild Jean; her children, Pamela Maurer (Randy), James Smithers (Karen Baran), Gerald Smithers, Michael Smithers (Ann Braun) and Lisa Lemke (Jeff); and her siblings, Marcia Glaza, Irene Yeska (John), Judith Nowaczyk (Duane), Ellen Jennings, William Schramke (Rita), Alice Larson (James) and Donald Schramke (Ann). She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
The family has requested that donations in Jean's honor be directed to United Hospice of Marlette.
