She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Emmitt and Viola Emmitt (Mills); her former husband Alan Howard; her husband Rodney Bergman; and her sisters, Juanita Throne and Jane Skiver.
She is survived by: her children, Kurt Howard (Marianne) of Ypsilanti, Todd Howard (Lori) of Ypsilanti and Wendy Jo Howard of Milan; her stepchildren, Sharon Bergman (Steve Heinzman), Valerie Soldat (Thomas) and Wayne Bergman (Gail); her grandchildren, Brad, Lance Howard, Lynzi Patton, Sarah, Robert and Christine Robins; and her brother Walter "Bud" Emmitt of Ann Arbor. She is also survived by four step grandchildren.
