He was predeceased by: his parents, Esther Dowling and Alvin Dowling; his siblings, Phillip, Jim, Carol, Dennis and Kenny; and his parent-in-law Cherrell Fry.

He is survived by: his spouse Beverly; his children, Jonathan Dowling (Cindy), Paul Dowling (Yadira) and Jennifer Ainscough (Joseph); his grandchildren, Jonathan Jr., Brooke, Jaycob, Bryan, Paul Jr. (Morgan), Makayla, Justin, Nicholas, Alexander, Joseph Jr., Isabella, Emma and Joshua; his great grandchild Penelope; and his mother-in-law Arlene.
