He is survived by: his wife Bernice Merchak; his children, William Merchak (Patricia), Ellen Yax (Thomas), Andrew Merchak (Katherine), Catherine Schick (Christian) and Mary Carlson; his grandchildren, Phillip, Kevin, Nathan (Cari), Aaron (Samantha), Joseph (Julie), Alexander (Kelly), Jack and Ashley (Jay); and his great grandchildren, Eden, Josiah, James and Aubrey.
