Virginia A. Newton Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Virginia A. Newton of Swartz Creek, Michigan, who passed away on February 17, 2025, at the age of 105, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Stanley Kurzawa and Stella Kurzawa (Penczyk); her husband Vance Newton; her daughter Patti Johnson; her grandson Jason Coppedge; her son-in-law Terry Walding; and her siblings, Kashmir Kurzawa, Helen Huber, Stefania Schaffer (Stevie), Stella Kovalcik (Stash), Josepha Yancho (Zeffa) and Clara Burke.
She is survived by: her daughters, Jane Parsons (Doug), Kay Coppedge (Tom) and Carol Newton-Walding; her son-in-law Ed Johnson; her grandchildren, Brian Parsons (Tory), Rodney Parsons (Julie) and Stacey Hansen (Thorvy); her great grandchildren, Mitchell, Reid, Chandler, Alexandria, Morgan, Christopher, Kaytlin and Claire; her great great grandchildren, Phoebe and Axel; and her sister Janet Hoffman. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Swartz Funeral Home (1225 W Hill Rd, Flint, MI 48507). A funeral service was held on Monday, February 24th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
