He was predeceased by: his parents, Ba Thein and Daw Mya Khin. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Lazarus; his sons, Terence Hlathein (Rebecca) of Lexington and Patrick Hlathein (Alison) of Caledonia; and his grandchildren, Brian and Ruby. He is also survived by two brothers, two sisters and several nieces and nephews.
