He was predeceased by: his mother Doris J. Young; his stepfather Max Young; his brothers, Thomas (Janell) and Robert Bumpus; and his great grandchild Ava Marie LeButt.

He is survived by: his wife Joan C. Bumpus; his children, Carrie Johnson (Tim), Tracy A. Bumpus, Amy West (Jason Kallio), Tammy Basore (Kevin) and Chuck H. Bumpus, Jr. (Nicky Straub); his grandchildren, Michael Johnson (Isabella) and Mallari Johnson (Rob Dancer); his great grandchildren, Haley, Logan Bumpus, Aria LeButt, Bowen and Oaklen Maynard; his stepsister Markeita Long; his brothers, Terry (Phyllis Ward) and Kirk (Mary Curtis); his sister-in-law Mary; and also Jackie Scheller.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Stockbridge, Stockbridge Community Outreach, or Stockbridge Athletics.
