He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Swartz and Edna Swartz; and his brothers, Walter E. Swartz and Donald Swartz. He is survived by: his wife Eleanor Swartz; his daughters, Janet Ward, Joyce Schelhaas (Alan) and Joan Oosse (Mark); and his siblings-in-law, John VanHoven and Charlene VanHoven. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
Due to continuing concerns with COVID, private funeral services for Robert will be held with full military honors to be accorded by the Kent County Veterans Honor Guard.
