He was predeceased by: his parents, Clinton Scott and Barbara Scott (Mertz); his grandson Jacob Bowen; his brother Gordon Scott; and his sister-in-law Joann Scott.

He is survived by: his wife Cathy; his grandchildren, McKenna Bowen and Riley Bowen; his great grandchild Owen Giles; his siblings, Barbara Millard (Greg) of Six Lakes, Kenneth Scott (Carol) of Hudsonville and Randall Scott (Beth) of Stanton; and his sister-in-law Linda Young (Peter) of Florida.
