She was predeceased by: her parents, William James Steele and Mary "Louise" Lawrence (Bourguigond); her daughter Janice Avery; her brother Richard Steele; and her sisters-in-law, Phyllis Steele and Ruth LaJoie.
She is survived by: her husband Carl James Avery; her daughters, Susan Ann Ayers (Eric) of Bruce Township and Carla Jean Cryderman (John) of Dafter, Michigan; her grandchildren, Holly Sibbald, John Sibbald (Kim), Justin Sibbald, Lacee Cryderman, Tanner Berlek and Christopher Avery (Delynn); her great grandchildren, Zachary, Emma, Noah, John, Jacob, Joshua, Acelynn, Jaycee and Ryan; her siblings, James Steele of Barbeau, Michigan, Lavon Goeschel (Gordon) of Bruce Township and Janet Crisp of Bruce Township; and her brothers-in-law, William Avery (Joy) and Russell Avery.
