Hoeft and Lucille Hoeft (Hauser); his wife Vivian Hoeft (Rowe); his children, Rod Hoeft (Linda), Trudy Tietz (Jim) and Liz Wheeler (Ed); and his siblings, Richard (Carol), Dave (Margaret), Steve (Ann) and Lorna. He was also cherished by 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church or to Huron Valley Lutheran High School, Westland, MI.
