She was predeceased by: her parents, Julius Elmer and Hannah Wirtanen (Mikkola); her husband William Wilbert Alatalo; her son Ross Alatalo; her siblings, Donald, Sherry and Betty; and her daughter-in-law Laureen.

She is survived by: her sons, Jack Alatalo of Suffield, Billy Alatalo of St. Ignace and David Alatalo (Cathy) of Negaunee, Michigan; and her sisters, Anita Gerich of Dodgeville, Annette Vollrath of International Falls and Dolly Felton of Eden Prairie, Minnesota. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
