He is survived by: his children, Jerry Wellman (Mary), Debbie White (Ron) of Birch Run, Linda Hill of Bridgeport and Patrick Wellman of Montrose; his siblings, Charles Wellman, Jeanette Ham, Roseann Fritzler (Carl), Thomas Wellman (LeAndra), Donald Wellman (Kay), Wayne Wellman, Barbara Evans (Jerry), Re Wuerfel (Dennis) and Bernard "Bud" Wellman; and his brother-in-law Richard Bourdow. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren.
