It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bertha T Kowalski (Rudyard, Michigan), born in East Chicago, Indiana, who passed away on April 16, 2018, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Gratkowski and Anna Gratkowski (Huszek); her husband Joseph Kowalski, Jr.; her grandson David Kowalski; and her siblings, Frank Gratkowski, Kate Polomczak and Stella Southworth.
She is survived by: her sons, Joseph Kowalski III (Betty) of Shelbyville, MI and Michael Kowalski (Joan) of Rudyard, MI; her grandchildren, Anne Wokeck, Jessica Jackson (Dan), Sarah Garza (Ray), Alex Kowalski (Sara), Jennifer Bradley (Tracy), Christy Kowalski, Allen Kowalski (Nikki), Lisa Grover, Stephanie Winter (Buzzy) and Matthew Kowalski (Stephanie); her siblings, Kazmer Gratkowski (Vera) and Frances Klees; and her sisters-in-law, Mary Gratkowski, Cecelia Bain, Joanne Kowalski and Sylvia Kowalski. She is also survived by 26 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to St. Joseph Catholic Church or . Arrangements are being handled by C.S. Mulder Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
