He is survived by: his son Matthew (Rebecca) of Portage, Michigan; his grandchildren, Bryce, Josye, Maxwell, Derek Jr. and Dominic; and his sister Juanita Soregenfrei (Neil) of Moltke. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
