Janet Schalk Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Janet Schalk of Rogers City, Michigan, who passed away on January 16, 2023 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Reuben Bruning and Alice Bruning (Rudnick); her grandson Rick Schalk Jr.; and her siblings, Neil Bruning and Dolores Shampine.

She is survived by: her husband Marlin Schalk; her children, Cynthia Zavada (Ray) of Fenton, Rick Schalk (Sandra) of Wayne, Candace Smith (Ken) of Auburndale, Jack Schalk of California, Todd Schalk (Jan) of Dequincy Louisiana and Carrie Schleben (Jim) of Rogers City; and her grandchildren, Scott, Matt, Mark, Amber, Jami, Jennifer, Jodi, Janae, Tonya, Emily and Shelby. She is also survived by grandkids, and one great great grandchild.

Memorials are suggested Peace Lutheran Church or McLaren Hospice.
