He was predeceased by: his parents, Ronley Onan and Ruth Onan; his brothers, Bob Onan (Marilyn) and Dick Onan; his siblings-in-law, Jim and Linda Norton; and his in-laws, Ray and Marvel Idema.
He is survived by: his wife Janet; his children, James Shupe (Holly) and Jennifer Gray (Brian); his grandchildren, Brennon Shupe (Kaylee), Olivia Shupe and Jordan Gray; his great grandchildren, Thomas and Waylon Shupe; his siblings, Merle Onan, Cherie Richardson (Paul), Dianna Bulthuis and Georgeann Andrews (Tim); his sisters-in-law, Sandy Onan and Mary Allen; his close friend Sandy Cleveland; and his caregivers, Andrea, Heather, Kailyn, Kim and Ann. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
