It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth Elaine Westrate (Rockford, Michigan), born in Holland, Michigan, who passed away on April 3, 2024, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Benjamin Frens and Gertrude Frens; her sister Myra Ratering; her in-laws, Garrett and Mary Eleanor Westrate; and her brothers-in-law, Roger Westrate and Michael Warden.
She is survived by: her husband Rev. Kenneth Westrate; her sons, Keith Westrate (Valerie) of Mystic, Eric Westrate (Amy) of Grand Rapids and Bill Westrate (Shela) of Lake Mills, Wisconsin.; her brother John Frens; and her siblings-in-law, Norman Ratering, Duane Westrate (Marge), Bonnie Westrate, Marge Westrate and Sally Warden. She is also survived by her numerous nieces, nephews, and extended relatives.
