She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Thomas Cauley Hemenger; her children, Robert Hemenger, Catherine Michael (Richard), William Hemenger (Franke) and Elizabeth Vernon; her parents, Roman Douglas and Margaret Douglas; her sisters, Delores, Joan, Jean and Janice; and her daughter Cathy. She was also cherished by seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
