He was predeceased by: his father Otto Porrett; and his sister Marilyn Puffpaff. He is survived by: his wife Diane Traub; his daughters, Jennifer Northam (Lantz) and Justine Achatz; his grandchildren, Shane, Logan, Jacob, Carissa, Paul and Alyson; and his brother-in-law Thomas Traub. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorials are suggested to the First United Church of Christ Richmond, Christmas Dinner Fund.
