He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Helmila (Alatalo) of Republic; his children, Walley Helmila (Karen) of Marquette, Lynn Hintsala (Lowell) of Republic and Wayne Helmila (Kim) of De Pere, WI; his sister Carol Crothers of Wyandotte; his siblings-in-law, Esther Helmila of Miles City, MT, Fred and Mildred Alatalo of Republic; his grandchildren, Walley Helmila II (Brianne), Erica Smith (Travis), Jaclyn Hintsala, Jamie Pugeda (Anton), Jenna Huhtala (Ryan), Lindsay Lee-To (Colin) and Derek Helmila; and his pet Reba. He is also survived by 9 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins.
