He was predeceased by: his wife Rena (Seldon). He is survived by: his children, Roy Atherton (Kathy) and Ruth Moyer (Bruce); his grandchildren, Dan Waldrop, Diana Brown (Andy), Dwight Waldrop (Andrea), Nicole Atherton (Mike), Denise Lambright (Kyle) and Keith Atherton; and his sisters, Mary Dean, Elenore Newcomber and Kathy Peterson. He is also survived by his family as accepting everyone as a friend or neighbor.
