It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Edward Whitcomb of Portage, Michigan, born in McCrory, Arkansas, who passed away on December 15, 2023, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Whitcomb and Irene Whitcomb (Cox); and his brothers, Donald and John. He is survived by: his wife Marguerite "Peggy" LaDuke; his children, Reginald Whitcomb (Carol), Dorothy Dzoiba, Rodney Whitcomb (Susan), Judith Whitcomb (Randy Viola), Richard Whitcomb (Diane) and John Burns; his grandchildren, Rodney, Melissa, Monica, Amanda, Ashleigh, Blake, Claire and James "Jas"; his great grandchildren, Ally, Cameron, Kyleigh, Chase, Charlee, Alexis, Taylor, Emarie, Ivy and Olivia; and his siblings, Ray Whitcomb and Louise Nicholas.
