She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Edward and Mary Lucille Grupe (Alderson); her former husband Harvey Thornton; her husband Oscar "Frank" Sanders; her granddaughter Megan Lewis; and her brothers, Terry Grupe and Leonard Grupe.
She is survived by: her sons, Mike Thornton (Jacquie) and Tim Thornton (Victoria); and her brother Robert Groupe. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Kalamazoo Humane Society, in memory of Diana Sanders.
